Origin Story
On a warm summer evening, my family and I drove from our home in Pennsylvania to spend our annual summer vacation at the beach. As we made our way around a turnpike, a speeding car raced past us, lost control, and crashed. As we rushed to aid the injured passengers, a feeling of helplessness came over me. At that very moment, I decided to become a doctor and vowed I would never again feel that sense of hopelessness in an emergency situation. I was thirteen.

A year later, I became an EMT and volunteered at our local hospital emergency room. By my senior year in college, I was a certified paramedic, and a few years later found myself completing my residency in internal medicine and surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital at Yale University School of Medicine. Since then, I have spent my entire medical career serving underprivileged populations, addressing healthcare inequities, and building an interdisciplinary medical program and emergency medical response practice.

When the threat of COVID-19 hit in early 2020, I knew something had to be done. So, my team and I jumped into action and designed and implemented the nation’s first drive-thru COVID testing site. We then expanded our COVID emergency medical response testing and vaccination services across Hawai’i and the United States. We are now working on offering our services worldwide, with one goal in mind — “Protect, Heal, and Save Lives!”

Although our world is currently facing one of the most difficult medical crises in modern history, you can be sure that my staff and I will be on the frontline, offering our medical expertise and services. Among all of my professional roles as an entrepreneur, researcher, and teacher…I am a doctor first!
